It’s 11:27 pm and I really should be in bed but I am here at my laptop writing. Welcome to the Hayley Daily. Thanks for stopping by.
In 2020 the world was hit with what I can only describe is unimaginable. I know we have seen crazy medical stories on TV and in movies but no one ever thought that one would actually happen. I know I never expected to live through a worldwide pandemic. I was very lucky that I live in a country where we went into lockdown very quickly, I was able to work from home and keep my job but not everyone was so lucky. Every day (sometimes all day) I would watch the news and be so heartbroken about the lives lost, the medical stuff with hardly any PPE, and people losing their jobs. Every day I would have the same thought “I wish there was a way I could help”. I’m not a doctor or a millionaire so I made changes where I could. I employed women to help with things I needed for my business and home life, I started to support local businesses that were struggling, where I could I would promote and share information to help artists, actors, musicians keep the creative juices flowing. It was this need to help that got me thinking about the big picture, the long-term game – what did I want to leave as my legacy? How can I help? I wanted to create a space for women to come where they can learn and grow. I want them to read stories from other women and realize that they too can be whoever they want! I want a solely female page focused whether that be an article about a powerful CEO who built her company from the ground up, or a movie review from a female point of view or even pulling back the curtain on industries that have been so male-dominated for years and shining the light on the ladies in areas like IT or Engineering or Farming to give some examples. Not only do I want to bring ladies front and center but I also want to help them with everyday life as well. Whether it be product reviews, organizational tips, easy recipe ideas, I want to be here for the good, bad, and ugly. I have big plans for The Hayley Daily and this is just the beginning.
