LETS GET OUR FRIDGES ORGANIZED!
I don’t know about you but my fridge seems to be the one space in my house that always gets messy. When we renovated our kitchen and bought a new fridge I told myself that this fridge is always going to be neat and tidy. I created steps for myself to keep it so simple and easy for myself that it would always remain organized. I figured that if I wanted easy steps that maybe other people did too so welcome to my fridge organization guide.
1. Plan out the space.
Not all fridges are the same so these steps can be used for any shape and size fridge. The first thing I do is take a look at what I currently have in the fridge. Yes before you clean it out. You may have expired food in there that you are going to throw away but it’s important to take note of the items that you buy regularly so when you make a plan you remember these items.
During my planning session, I get a pen and paper and draw up a mock-up plan and measure my spaces. In my plan, I will also make note of shelves that can be moved higher or lower. Remember to measure your draws as well! Last but not least I take a photo of the fridge space and my paper plan. You will want to have easy access to this information when you go shopping for products.

2. Clean out the Fridge.
For me, this is the worst part. I hate finding moldy food items that have been in the fridge WAY too long. When you are cleaning your fridge if any items can be cut up or placed in a container go ahead and do that. For our household, if things like fruit and vegetables are cut up they get eaten and not left in the fridge to rot. If you don’t have a container available make a note to get this when you are shopping. Below are some of my all-time favorite cleaning items to make this job easier.
3. Shopping - Get Organization Products
It’s time to buy some organizational products. I have a mix of glass containers and plastic bins. For food items that I cut up like fruit, I prefer to have them in a glass container however that is just my personal preference. When buying products make sure you shop around so you are not spending crazy amounts of money as it can add up. My recommendation is to shop for fridge organization at Kmart, Target, Amazon, and dollar stores.
4. Labels
Nothing excites me more than having things labeled. To be honest, if I could I would label everything! I decided to create my labels instead of buying them. If you do not want to create your own there are plenty of options for labels. You can buy a label maker, go through a company to create custom labels for you or no label at all.
5. Putting everything back
The fun part, putting it all back into the fridge – all organized of course! With your plans from earlier, you can use this as a guide to place everything neatly and functional into your fridge. You may need to rearrange some containers but make the space work for your lifestyle.
6. Restock the Fridge
Fill the fridge back up or with just what you need. In my household its just me and my future husband here so you would think I wouldn’t have heaps of food to organize but oh boy my man can eat!
