When it comes to decorating your home it can often be an expensive task. I know when I bought my first home I was so excited to decorate it and put my little style stamp on it. When I started shopping for items whether it was paintings, frames, vases, I found that a lot of these items were expensive. I then realized that I did not need to spend heaps of money on items and that I could get created and make my style more personal. I love being creative so I was happy to make a photo wall instead of buying painting but not everyone is interested in doing that so we have come up with some below ideas for cheap home decor that won’t break the bank but will make your home look a million bucks!

Cushions
I feel like you either love cushions or hate them. I LOVE THEM! Cushions are a cheap way to make any second hand couch look brand new and super inviting. The best thing with cushions is that you can change up your covers whenever you want to change up your style.
LAMPS
Lamps are a perfect addition to decorating your home. There are so many options. To spruce up you office a desk lamp can be a perfect. A floor lamp is great for smaller spaces. If you want to get super funky you can also buy light bulbs that are different colours.
Throw Blankets
Throw blankets are a nice easy way to add a splash of colour to your room. This is good when you are renting and you cannot paint your walls but you want to brighten up the room. They are also a good investment as you can not only use them for decorate purposed but for practical ones too. You can use this cheap home decor idea for your couch or beds.
VASES
Vases come in so many shape, sizes, colours and materials. I love to buy flower so I have many vases in my house. Some are simple glass ones and others are a little more different. I have done this on purpose because if I don’t have money for flowers one week the vases themselves are a pretty addition to my entry buffet.
CANDLES
Not only can candles make your home smell amazing but they are also a cheap home decor idea. Like vases they come in different shapes and colours. You can pick up some cheap candles dollar shops.
BOOKS
Coffee table books or any books really can make a space feel so sophisticated. You can pick up some pretty books from good will shops or head to target to get some awesome deals.
MIRRORS
Mirrors are a perfect way to make an area look spacious. I am a personal fan of full length mirrors however any size can look amazing.
PLANTS
Real or fake plants are a great way to bring life into a space. There are so many indoor plants to buy that are also not dear. I find some reasonable indoor plants at my local grocery store and the best part is they often come in a nice pot so I am saving money there.
FRUIT BOWL
One thing I could not wait to do after we renovated our kitchen was to display fresh fruit on my kitchen counters. I ended up finding a beautiful salad bowl that was the perfect size and price. Just because something is labelled to be used a certain way does not mean you have too.
WOODEN BOARDS
The best thing about chopping boards is that there are so many styles that they no longer need to be hidden away in a cupboard. Bring those boards out and give them a nice home on your bench or maybe near you stove top. Trust me it will look amazing.
